The City of Umatilla reminds residents of seasonal change in irrigation restrictions
The end of daylight savings time on Sunday, Nov. 2 marks the beginning of once-a-week landscape irrigation.
These mandatory watering restrictions will last from the first Sunday in November until the second Sunday in March. Homes with odd numbered addresses may water on Saturday, and homes with even numbered addresses may water on Sundays. Non-residential properties may water on Tuesdays.
Irrigation is not allowed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and is limited to no more than ¾ inches of water per zone per day. Watering should be limited to a maximum of one hour on irrigation days and only in the amount necessary to meet landscape needs.
Irrigation rules apply to water withdrawn from ground or surface water, private wells or pumps, or from a public or private utility. These limitations apply to all landscape irrigation for residential, commercial and industrial establishments.
