Code Enforcement is responsible for the interpretation and enforcement of all City Ordinances to promote and protect the health, safety and general welfare of the public.

Report possible code infractions in your neighborhood or ask questions regarding City codes by:

  1. Submitting on-line Code Enforcement Nuisance Complaint; or
  2. Visiting the Code Enforcement Office at City Hall, 1 S. Central Avenue, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; or
  3. Call office at (352) 669-3125; or
  4. Mail a letter to Code Enforcement at P.O. Drawer 2286, Umatilla, FL 32784.

Animals: The City of Umatilla transferred animal control responsibilities to Lake County Animal Services. You can report concerns to them at (352) 343-9688, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. After hours, please call the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at (352) 343-2101. Under most circumstances, cows, pigs, goats, and sheep are prohibited within the City limits. Domestic fowl are allowed under certain conditions contained in Ordinance 2017 - A and a permit must be obtained. To download the application, please visit our Forms & Applications page.
