Amy Nielsen is the author of several books, including the YA novel, "Worth It," bronze medalist in the 2024 Florida Book Award Young Adult Literature category. "Worth It" is about a pregnant teenager in an abusive relationship who finds hope and life. This semi-autobiographical novel is set in Central Florida in the late 1980's. The fictional town in depicted in the novel is actually Umatilla. The author was raised in Umatilla and attended Umatilla schools. During the virtual author visit she will provide details about which locations, and maybe characters, are based on places and people from Umatilla. Although she will be remoting in on a virtual platform, this presentation is strictly for our Umatilla audience. Adults and teens are welcome.
